)O( Book Reviews by Magenta Rose )O(

Welcome to my book review page. The inspiration for this page came from my dear husband Marlevane, because he started writing reviews first. It's dedicated to you sweetheart. You will always inspire me......

Now, let me say that I am not an expert on writing reviews, but I want to give it a go. But I can promise one thing, I will always be honest, yet tactful. Even if I find a book to be terrible, I will review it in a way that will not slander the author in any way, shape or form.

Remeber, the following words are just my opinion, and not set in stone. I do hope that my reviews will be a "spring board" for you, but you must draw your own conclusions about the books I review.

Some of the reviews might overlap Marlevane's, meaning that I will sometimes review the same book. That is only because I have to get my two cents in! ( Just my nature folks. )

And speaking of Marlevane, don't forget to read his great reviews too.

The Inner Temple of Witchcraft; authored by Christopher Penczak
337 pages with index; published by Llewellyn Worldwide

Inner Temple of Witchcraft Cover. I found this book very intriguing from cover to cover. I clung to every word. Christopher's writing style is very harmonious, peaceful and personal. He finds true beauty within everything, and it shows within this book. After you read it, not only will you feel good about being a Witch, but about yourself as person too.

If you are looking for spells and structured rituals, you will not find them in Inner Temple of Witchcraft. (With the exception of the initiation ritual at the end of the book.) But what you will find something much better! You will find the true teachings of Witchcraft, magick, the universe, and the human mind. Real magick is within yourself, and Christopher gives many techniques to bring the magick out!

What is truly impressive about this book are the magick/psychic exercises and meditations. They are superb!! There are 34 exercises ranging from basic energy work, to opening and balancing the chakras, to past life exploration. To make the experience even better, Christopher offers a 4 disk CD companion that will guide you through the meditations and most of the exercises. (Of course, the CD companion is sold separately, but it is worth the money!) In addition to the exercises, there are 33 images and figures to help you learn visually.

The ONLY draw-back I see within this book is that it claims to be a beginner's book. I personally see it as intermediate material because it is very scientific in nature, and some of the techniques are a bit more advanced. Christopher discusses topics such as quantum physics, the universe as a hologram, and Hermetic magick. But please, don't let this little draw-back scare you away from the book. Even if you are a beginner, you will benefit from the lessons taught within. And as you become more advanced in the Craft, you will reflect back and say, "Ahhh...now I know what Christopher Penczak was talking about!"

In conclusion, Inner Temple of Witchcraft is an excellent material! I recommend the book and the CD companion very highly. You won't be sorry that you bought them.
