Kevin Gardner -"A Handbook for Wiccan Clergy" This book gets right down to business. Kevin (Temple of Ishtar) writes this book geared towards rituals for performing all rites of passages. No Wiccan Priest or Priestess should be without this book in their collections! This book is a real gem to the Pagan world and to all magickal practitioners. Buy it here. |
"Grimoire for the Apprentice Wizard" Author: Oberon Zell-Ravenheart ISBN: 1-56414-711-8 372 pages, 7 x 10, Paper $18.99 Finally, a book about real Wizardry. I have searched for so long for a book of this genre. Oberon is right on about this book. It is not just for the younger crowds either. Despite all the Harry potter movies and fictional movies that show wizards as a cartoonish fairy tale, this book is excellent in all aspects. It does make a few references about Harry Potter, but who doesn't like the films? The loads of information is well worth the price. Chapters are based on the sixteen Departments of Oberon’s Grey School of Wizardry: Wizardry, Magickal Practice, Nature Studies, Metapsychics, Healing, Wortcunning, Divination, Alchemy, Conjury, Lifeways, Beast Mastery, Mathemagicks, Cosmology, Ceremonial Magick, Lore, and Dark Arts. Oberon gives so much true magickal knowledge packed into this first book and it is so wonderful. I will be awaiting more in this subject from Oberon. Hopefully he will write the next two levels of Wizardry into books as well the Journeyman and the Adepts. |
Edain McCoy-"Advanced Witchcraft" This book is excellent. I found my weaknesses and my strong points from reading this book. Edain lays the chapters out quite nicely. Each section is split up by the Elemental Categories with subchapters in-between. (air, earth, fire, water, and spirit). She gives great knowledge to any witch thinking they are already "Advanced", after reading this one you will too find a lot of things you were un-aware of. This book should be in your library whether you are intermediate or advanced. Thumbs up for Excellence to Edain! |
Christopher Penczak-"The Witches Shield" ISBN 0-7387-0542-X Price $17.95 This book is a must have for all witches. This book teaches about banishings and psychic protection. He even shows how to work with different deities as well as differnt techniques including the arcangels. Christopher is an awesome teacher of the craft, his books are very precise and dead on. Thumbs up for this one too.
