Everything around us generates energy including us. The trees and the animals are no exception. They too breathe life to survive like us or more notably known as prana. We believe that we can connect directly with the Divine source. It is done through Shamanic journeys and invoking the great deities into our ritual work. Shamanism and Wicca are really very similar as we share a lot of the same beliefs. I know some people will argue that Wicca does not have its own cosmology. But this path of Wicca is an ever changing way of thoughtforms. Eclectic Wicca borrows what it wants from other religions so to include a cosmology is not wrong at all. Don’t limit your mind. We do have a cosmology. We believe the As Above, So below and we also have Elemental realms too. Your four quarters or four winds are apart of the Wiccan cosmology. Belief in reincarnation does put a twist on things though.

In Wicca we believe there is a supreme divinity but we are not excluded from experiencing their power. When you invoke the Gods in your magickal rites you are assuming the power of that deity. So it is possible to connect to a Divine source. Other forms of religions may believe that it is impossible to get close to their Divine One directly. I can’t say they are wrong because that is their way of beliefs. I am saying that I believe a different view of this concept. It is possible with our god forms to be at one with the deities.

The lower realm is really close to our own realm (the middle). There is only a thin barrier between our worlds. It is here that low level spirits or beings are generally found to reside. Their underworld has been thought to be called “Hell” in Christian teachings. They (Christians) believe that after a person passes if they were a sinner, that they would go to this place called Hell the underworld that is ruled by Satan.

What a twisted concept. I do not believe this to be true. I do believe the souls that are taken here are waiting to be re-incarnated or have not learned all that is to be known of life’s lessons. They possibly could have bad karma and need to correct it somehow to be granted a pass to the higher realm. Like Summerland.

The middle realm is our everyday mundane world. This is where you and I are right now, as I write this article and you are reading it. On the conscious mind level. While we are on this realm there are many lessons to learn. A lot of knowledgeable people believe we go through many stages of learning. I am not talking about only this life either. There can be several trials of learning. Some people go through this life only learning what has been taught by their peers. They also can be forced to follow a certain path and not ever learn more than one idea. That seems too narrow to only believe in one way of life. Is there only to be born, live your life simple and then die? I don’t think so and neither do most learned people.

There is an afterlife. The ancient Egyptians and many others do believe there is something more out there than just being chucked into the ground six feet under. If it were not so, then why do so many people see ghosts? These otherworldly beings are from the afterlife. They are from another realm other than our own. They are no longer physically materialized or connected to their bodies.

The upper realm or higher level of existence has many names. We call it the Summerland. The place we go if we were fortunate to have learned enough in life to make it there. Without too much bad karmic baggage attached to us. It is a place of bliss and wonderful scenery. You would also be closer to true Divinity then ever.

Other religions might call this place the heavens. This essentially is kind of the same thing. But they believe that it takes a lot stricter life style to get there. They also believe that only a select few will have this opportunity to experience it. I believe everyone has this chance to a good afterlife. Not just a few hundred thousand or a chosen race of humans. It is sad to say, but I think I must comment on what a lot of people are thinking but are afraid to say it. It appears to me that in this type of religion, you almost have to buy your way into heaven. This is an ugly concept to have to point out. But I did.

This is the place of the highest realm to be ever reached. This is to be at one with Creator/Creatrix. The unknowable Supreme divine source is who I am talking about.
